Itinerary

This morning, your guide and driver pick up in Siem Reap (your hotel/ any station) and drive to Angkor park for your first discovery at the fabulous jewel in the jungle Ta Prohm temple. Found in the late twelve century by the Buddhist king in the dedication to Buddha and memorial of his mother, was used as the Buddhist University, school of Art.  The fabulous Ta prom gives an upscale value to foreign visitors as well as Cambodian citizens and especially the intellectuals. It is one of the most impressive temples in Angkor because of the overgrown trees with their entwined roots that make this ruin one of the most attractive in the orient. This awesome site was chosen to be filmed named Tomb Raider, performed by Angelina Jolie in 2000,  just before she became a Good Will Ambassador of  the United Nations to Cambodia.

From here take a short ride to your next discovery, the most extensive monument Angkor Wat.  Unforgettable! The beautiful monument complex is ‘must see’ for any visitor to Cambodia. You will not be disappointed and our expert guides will explain you the history in details. The entire sandstone structure is exquisitely covered, and dominated by five gigantic peaks on the third level. They are pineapple shaped with lotus buds at the top. The total Angkor Wat experience is one of emotional appeal to the senses; one you will never forget!

Lunch brerak, (Lunch at sellected restaurant on own account)

After lunch explore the huge fortified Buddhist city Angkor Thom City. The capital of Angkor Thom was founded in the late 12 century when the Cham fleets shacked Angkor city. It is said that it was built by Jayavarman VII to serve a million of people and valuable materials which were used in Angkor. Surrounded by 8meters height solid wall, 25metters in width and 2,50miles long. Each entrance of the capital decorated with the guardians holding the Naga snake, the huge moat filled with crocodiles to guard the city. Every tower contained four gigantic smiling faces of the city founder and Buddha symbolizing the divine’s state of mind. From here continue Bayon temple. Located in the heart of Angkor Thom city, the huge temple of Bayon consists of more than 200 carved stone faces looking out four directions and showing different expressions. The faces represent the emotional turmoil under the Cham attack. The carving faces depict the king’s expression and concern about his country politics, economies and education. The rough smiling faces are full of sorrow and concern, and the gentle smiling faces show the promising future and peace of the founder in the ancient Khmer history.

Then resume your visit to an artificial Pyramid Hindu temple the Bapuon, this monument found just before Angkor Wat temple symbolizing Mount Meru dedicated to Shiva god, a god of destroyer. Heading out to explore Royal enclosure and former Royal Palace from 9th to 15th century and visit the nearby attractions including Terrace of Elephants, Royal Stage for performances and foreign services meeting. And finally visit Terrace of Leper King, once was used as the Royal Crematorium.
